Engineering Services by Appointment
Counter service for engineering review is provided during the following time periods at the Brea Civic and Cultural Center on the third floor of the Brea Civic & Cultural Center:
- Monday through Thursday
8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Friday (alternating weeks)
8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
To maximize customer convenience, it is highly recommended that an appointment time be scheduled. Please keep in mind, that the City of Brea is closed on alternate Fridays as shown on this calendar. You may call 714-990-7667 for appointments.
To help expedite your trip to City Hall, you may download and fill out an initial encroachment application or when relevant, the subsequent encroachment application. There is also an initial plan check application that can be prepared in advance. When needed, the subsequent plan check application may be used. Applications provide a checklist of materials to bring to your plan check meeting. They also indicate areas to be filled out by the applicant.
Period Opens for Qualification of Contractors
The Public Works Department of the City of Brea invites interested contractors to complete a Contractor's Qualification Application to be placed on the 2017 Qualified Contractors List. This list is designed so that contractors can receive "Notice Inviting Bids" for informal projects under $175,000 in their respective work category, per California Public Contract Code Section 22034. Only qualified contractors will be notified.
Sewer System Management Plan Updated
The Sewer System Management Plan (SSMP) sets forth goals and actions to be followed, and guidelines for various activities involved in managing, operating, maintaining, repairing, replacing, and expanding the sewer system within the City of Brea. The SSMP is updated every five (5) years as required by the State Water Quality Control Board Executive Order No. 2006-003-DWQ. Furthermore, the SSMP is also identified within Chapter 13.00: Sewers, of the City of Brea Municipal Code.
57/Lambert Road Interchange Improvements Project
The City of Brea in cooperation with California Department of Transportation District 12 (Caltrans) is planning to improve the State Route 57 and Lambert Road interchange. The project objectives are to maximize performance and relieve congestion on the interchange ramps. Following construction, there should be reduced traffic delays and increased safety. The project is in the plans and specification phase.
